In 2022, the parent company of ProFrac and Alpine Silica brought Harp Visual Media in for a large-scale library shoot across multiple sites near Midland, Texas. The goal was to capture a wide range of photo and video assets that could support both companies across multiple marketing and communication needs. That included an active frac well, a sand mine and processing facility, and rolling shots of ProFrac trucks in motion.

Over the course of two days, we traveled across West Texas capturing the people behind the work, the scale of the operations, and the equipment in action. We photographed crews on an active ProFrac well site, coordinated sunrise drone photo and video of a frac pump moving down the road, and traveled to the Texas-New Mexico border to document Alpine Silica’s facility and operations.

This was a demanding production with a long shot list, multiple locations, and real-world conditions that had to be worked around at every step. In 4 days, we drove more than 1,300 miles, captured over 3,000 images, filmed more than three hours of footage, and completed the full shot list while navigating PPE and safety requirements, high winds, and constant blowing sand.

The result was a deep content library of hundreds of final images and ready-to-use video clips that both companies still rely on today. This project is a strong example of Harp Visual Media’s experience working safely and efficiently in industrial/oil and gas environments while capturing the kind of high-value media that keeps working long after the shoot is over.
